Readings and Conversations in Ignatian Spirituality
Ignatian Spirituality Readings is intended for those who have completed Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life (SEEL) or those who are steeped in Ignatian spirituality. The rich tradition of growing in Ignatian spirituality through spiritual reading and conversation is a trusted way to bring graced experiences to one’s spiritual life and to grow in Ignatian spirituality.
The purpose of Ignatian Spirituality Readings is to provide further insight and knowledge about the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits. Some themes and topics include Ignatian prayer, the Spiritual Exercises, discernment, and ways of living Ignatian spirituality in everyday life.
Participants in this program will meet monthly via zoom on Thursday evenings beginning at 7:00 pm for an hour and a half. At each monthly session, brief assigned readings (usually between 50 to 70 pages in length) will form the focus of the conversation and sharing. The facilitator will provide a brief introduction and some questions to elicit and guide the conversation. All participants are encouraged to join in the conversation following a pattern of spiritual conversations. Participants will explore the books listed below and will purchase the books prior to the sessions. All can be found on Amazon and some used books sellers.
