THURSDAY MORNINGS | FEBRUARY 18 - APRIL 29

A special group retreat experience for anyone who has made the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life (the 9-month journey through the full Spiritual Exercises).

You are invited to join two Ignatian prayer guides on an 11 session retreat written by William A. Barry, SJ based on the two commandments that make up the great commandment. “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind… [and] you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Mark 12:29-31

Fr. Bill Barry writes in the preface to An Invitation to Love: A Personal Retreat on the Great Commandment:

“As you will see, almost from the first page, this is not a book about the meaning of the two commandments—which, for the purposes of this book, are considered the one great commandment—and still less an exhortation to the reader to fulfill them. Rather, it’s an invitation to anyone who wants to grow in love for God and neighbor, an invitation to try some prayerful exercises that I and others have found helpful. I hope you will, as well.”

The Ignatian Spirituality Center of Kansas City has created daily prayer exercises using Fr. Bill’s book and invite all persons who have made the Spiritual Exercises to join us on this journey that will take you through Lent and into the Easter Season. You will pray daily at least 30 minutes and meet weekly for 75 - 90 minutes. This retreat is limited to 10 retreatants.
