PRAYER EXPERIENCES

Lenten Guided Prayer Program

Every year during Lent, the Ignatian Spirituality Center of Kansas City sponsors a four-week Guided Prayer Program.

Each day during the four-week period, participants pray over a selected Scripture text for 20 to 30 minutes. In addition, they keep a brief written record of what happened during the prayer periods. Once a week, each participant meets with a prayer companion. This person provides the Scripture readings and other resources for prayer. The companion also provides guidance and direction for prayer as this is needed. The meetings are held at a mutually agreeable time and place.

Many find this a rewarding and nourishing prayer experience, one that is very appropriate and worthwhile during the Lenten season. Others discover and enjoy a new method of prayer grounded in Scripture and enriched by the assistance of a prayer companion. For some, it is also a good opportunity to discuss spiritual matters and concerns based on their experiences of God's word in Scripture.

The program in 2008 will begin on Saturday, February 21, 2009, and conclude Saturday, March 21, 2009. If you think the Guided Prayer Program is right for you at this time, please mail, phone, or email your desire to register as indicated below.
